A new format and an expanded selection

The 2026 Tour de l’Avenir, scheduled for August 19-26, continues to evolve with the announcement of its format change, officially confirmed on January 15. At that time, ten development teams had already confirmed their participation in this edition. Now, A-VELO, the event organizer with the support of the Tour de France, completes the roster of development teams with 17 confirmed teams.

Development Teams Committed
The start list for the 2026 Tour de l’Avenir will include the youth versions of the following UCI WorldTeams and UCI ProTeams: Bahrain Victorious, Team Picnic PostNL, EF Education – EasyPost, INEOS Grenadiers, Lidl – Trek, Red Bull – Bora – hansgrohe, Soudal – Quick Step, Tudor Pro Cycling Team, Team Visma – Lease a Bike, UAE Team Emirates – XRG, XDS – Astana Team, Groupama – FDJ United, Lotto Intermarché, Movistar Team, Decathlon CMA CGM Team, Alpecin – Premier Tech, and Team Jayco AlUla.

National Teams to be Announced in Spring
True to its history and mission since its creation in 1961, the Tour de l’Avenir remains an event open to all young talents and future champions, regardless of their background. The previously announced list of development teams will soon be completed with the addition of national teams and those from continental confederations, whose composition will be revealed at the end of March.
